Where It Started
I remember my feminist mom flipping through beauty magazines circling diets and wrinkle creams. That's where I saw both her strength and insecurities.
Cutting the Story
When I look through those magazines now, I kind of laugh — because not much has changed, so I change it.
The Process
I’m either pulling things apart or trying to hold them together. Cutting, layering, sewing. I’m messing with the message.
My Mother’s Thread
My mom taught me how to sew, so thread shows up naturally. It’s the thing that holds it all together. And yes — she’s right in the middle of it.
